about corey kent

A new-school country rocker with a reputation for red-dirt swagger and blue-collar grit, Sony Music Nashville artist Corey Kent is a proud husband, father and creative freedom fighter, who has grown from humble heartland roots into a Platinum certified hit maker with a symbolic black bandana on his neck. A Bixby, Oklahoma native now based in Dallas, Kent rose from the vibrant Red Dirt country scene and first hit Nashville as a teen – but after the pandemic sent him packing, he moved to Texas and joined a paving crew to pay the bills, stubbornly refusing to call music quits.

The 2022 hit single “Wild As Her” proved he was right to never give in, becoming a Platinum-certified Number One at country radio and the lead single off his major label album debut, Blacktop, propelling the star to 750 million career streams and ones-to-watch accolades from CMT Listen Up, Opry Next Stage and more. The independently-minded singer-songwriter has gone on to tour in support of Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde and others, and despite never cracking country radio’s Top 40, Kent’s trust-your-gut second single “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” is now approaching Platinum status, proving his message and instincts connect.

Featuring 10 fresh tracks like the current single “Now Or Never (feat. Lauren Alaina)” and full-circle ballad “Never Ready,” Kent’s sophomore album Black Bandana continues his story of against-the-odds inspiration, mixing themes of integrity, resilience and family with a sonic setting at the midway point between Bruce Springsteen and Brooks & Dunn. Set to arrive this fall, Corey Kent is headed on the road for his headline Black Bandana Tour 2024, where he continues to rock his signature black bandana – a rally cry to never surrender, and never wave a white flag.
